Hillfields Animal Sanctuary Open Day 2013

Yesterday we went over to the Hillfields Animal Sanctuary Open Day. We've always thought it is really important for Small to see and understand what animals are, but we're not very keen on zoos, petting zoos and children's farms. We thought this would be a perfect chance, as well as supporting a good cause.

As you can see from the few snaps  I took, she's really finding her feet now!

Apart from an incident involving a quite large turkey I think Small really enjoyed it. There were lots of stalls including Lakeside Ethical Treats and The One Earth Shop - we picked up a selection of Go Max Go bars and had ice cream cones too!

It was lovely to see a few friendly faces  and enjoy the sunshine (it's looking very dull again now!).  I hope they raised lots of money to continue the work they do. All the animals rescued live out their days there and they have over 300 animals. If you'd like to help out you can Donate here.
