Samphire Brasserie

I've been wanting to go to Samphire Brasserie for the longest time - like literally. Mr B visited over a year ago when he was in Plymouth for work and I was seriously jealous - normally I get to visit all the best places too but when we lived in the Midlands it was pretty far away. Since we moved to Devon in December we've been exploring all the new food options that have opened up to us. Samphire is still over an hour away in the car, but I'm just going to come right out and say this - it's one of those rare places that is totally worth it. Pretty much the only other place we feel like that about is our beloved Veggie World in Milton Keynes. Word of advice! If you are planning a visit, book! We turned up the first time and wept all the way home as they were full.

The whole menu looked amazing and next time I go there are loads more things I'm looking forward to trying. This time I had the 'Big Moc' burger with fries - you guessed it, this is supposed to be pretty much like an imitation Big Mac. Now it has been like a million years since I ate a real one, but this thing was amazing. Samphire Brasserie make all their own seitan and vegan cheese so it was even better to have something 'homemade' and unique to them.

We also had a 'KFC' bucket to share between us so that we could try a bit of everything. It came with 'drumsticks', popcorn 'chicken', chips, coleslaw, beans and corn on the cob. This was pretty awesome too and Small especially loved the popcorn 'chicken' with the beans and this is a huge thing as she has never especially been a fan of faux meat. We were so completely stuffed by this that we had to pass up on the deserts and get some cake to take away and eat later. I didn't get a snap of this, but it was just as good as the rest of the food we had.
We also really liked the fact that it is now 100% vegan - not sure when this happened, but everything they serve is now vegan!
We will definitely be heading back there, especially as our Small person enjoyed it so much as well. If you are in the area you have to go and check it out.
